Birthday Party!!

Sorry it's been a while! I know you all know I have pictures, I've just been so busy with school...and...gilmore girl seasons! Seriously, if you're looking for a great TV series to watch, get the gilmore girls I guarantee you will love it! Anywho, I'm still behind on the editing...but here are a few from the Thanksgiving/Abby's 1 year birthday party trip! I miss everyone already! And cannot wait for Christmas!

Abby Kate is 1 year old!! and just as cute as can be!

she loved her yummy cake that her mom made for her!!

a lot!

She's strong too!

And here's miss Ellary posing in the window at the hospital. It was so cool.

and I've never really played much with backlighting, it's a little crazy and I could use some more practice, but I think they turned out pretty cool. Not so bad for my first time...

Love these two munchkins!

Oh yes, and this was Ellary trying to show me her "red" tongue from her ring pop that she had. The problem was, she had only licked it like twice so her tongue wasn't quite red yet. I loved it though.
I've got plenty more. And when I find some more time I'll edit and post them!

Modern Day Proverbs 31

So, I was browsing through some photography blogs earlier today. (Yes, that is what I do with all my time) Anyway, it's pretty obvious that the photography world as a profession is full of wonderful Christian people who are just getting to do what they love and use it as a testimony to everyone they come in contact with. Well I came across this entry and thought it was cool and worth sharing. I don't know who wrote it, or where exactly it came from, but it's a modern day interpretation of Proverbs 31. Makes me think of my mom, and so many other wonderful women that I look up to in my life. And I pray to be the same. Pretty sweet.

modern-day Proverbs 31 woman:
It began with a merciless scream from her child's room, followed by a consistent effort to wake up a sleepy-eyed adolescent daughter. She distributes their hand-packed lunches, each carefully initialed by a letter. When they leave, she begins the day of preparation. After all, there are groceries to be bought, clothes to be washed and put away, and bills to be paid. No one said idleness was even an option. Her world spins incessantly fast but her heart is at peace. After a long day of servanthood, she takes off the white undershirt with the almost-strategically placed spit-up markings and slips on her most flattering purple cashmere blouse. Purple: the color of royalty, a dazzling compliment to her pacific blue eyes. In the distance, the tic-toc of familiar footsteps is heard...he's home. Her beloved has arrived from his equally demanding day in the workplace. She turns the corner to greet him. Her eloquent beauty still provides him with the perfect safe haven to return home to. Over dinner, she eagerly listens as her children gush over the details of their day. They have great admiration for her and though they do not always show it, they desperately seek to be just like her one day. And yes, she notices that the edges of the toast are slightly burnt and maybe her chicken is lacking its usual tenderness, yet she doesn't focus on the wrongs, but rather sinks into the delights of the rights. As she vigorously scrubs the dirty dishes, she says not one utterance that would resemble complaint, and instead thinks of how she can serve next. Her heart is meek. Her motive, humble. And when those linen sheets fold up tightly around her neck at night, she is thankful for today and by no means threatened by tomorrow. Her peace-filled heart knows that tomorrow will bring its own set of problems and worrying won't change them. She sweetly kisses her husband goodnight and he smiles because the same thankfulness leaks into his body. He notices that she brings so may vibrant colors to his previously black-and-white world. Her eyes become heavy as she spins into much-needed sleep. Tomorrow will rise with the same purpose: to serve others and be a catalyst for change, regardless of circumstance. Her gentle spirit will not ask for praise for these great deeds that often go unnoticed, but the Lord is watching, and He certainly notices. And for her, that's enough.

I get bored easily...

Most photographers don't like being on the other side of the camera...

Me on the other hand.

Love it!

It was so pretty outside yesterday.

And I felt cute.

And I didn't have any models.

So I took a few pictures of myself.

: )

gosh, I'm so cool...

Brooke & Alex (Part 2)

The internet loved me today...Got the rest of the pictures I edited from Brooke & Alex uploaded in like less than 10 minutes... That's gotta be a record.

I was driving home today, in between school and work...and I actually looked around for a second... The fall colors are so beautiful.
I wish I lived somewhere that it wasn't so windy so I might enjoy it more being outside. It was so pretty today...stupid stupid wind.

anyway.
enjoy.

"Radar"

This is my puppy. Not much of a "puppy" anymore at all, but Radar has been a part of my family since I was like 10ish years old! And he's still goin strong. My mom asked me to take a few pictures of him while I was home last weekend and I decided that taking pictures of animals and small children are definately the hardest...they don't want to SIT STILL!! Anyway here are a few, look how cute he is!

Brooke & Alex (part 1)

Meet one of my oldest friends and someone I've known almost my whole life! I've known Brooke since I was in Kindergarten at little Wellman Texas. Talk about a long time ago! And just look at how cute she and her boyfriend Alex are! Brooke moved to Midland and changed school's about the same time that I moved to Brownfield but we have sort of stayed in touch ever since, with the help of the wonderful world of Myspace and Facebook! Her and Alex came up to Lubbock this weekend and gave me the pleasure of taking them on one of the famous photo trips downtown! These two were so much fun! Brooke even brought her puppy that Alex gave her for her birthday and we got some super cute shots of this little princess Mia! For some reason I took so many pictures that I ran out of memory on my card at the very last stop. I guess I was itching to get to take some pictures!! Well here are a few of my favorites...the internet is being crazy so I'll try and upload the rest later, but for now, enjoy these!
