My photo
Hey guys! Welcome to my very own "photo" blog. If you don't already know, I'm Casey, and I LOVE taking pictures! I wish I could do it all day every day. I am very blessed to have a special someone that shares this passion with me and helps me along the way. I have the best family and friends anyone could ask for, I'm just blessed beyond what I deserve. This is my passion, and there's nothing I'd rather do. If you have any questions, or would like to book a shoot, leave a comment in the comments section or send me an email at casey@aricalanphotography.com. I would love to help you any way I can. And while you're at it, check out aricalanphotography.com!! Have fun browsing!! :)

Couldn't be...

MORE EXCITED!!

Besides the fact that...well yesterday was my last day of school, minus 2 finals tomorrow, and a final on Monday!!!!! And just that life is great...
but...

drumm roll please...

I have pictures of me and Aric!!!! Okay, so, you may think I probably already have like TOO many pictures of the two of us, but I really don't. We take pictures of OTHER people, not ourselves! And then I get all kinds of jealous of all the cool pictures of other couples and then I complain to him about getting some of ourselves. Well he came through. Lol. Remember Brittany & Jordan? While we were being totally awesome and taking pictures of them, Brittany was doing some of her awesome work and taking a few pictures of us! :)
I decided to steal some to show here, but you can see the rest on her blog!

Now in the running for...

America's Next Top Model! Meet Kristin. She is a Senior at Tahoka High School, and isn't she just gorgeous?!

Aric and I waited anxiously outside of Starbuck's Saturday morning for our first meeting with Kristin. As girl after girl walked right past us and inside to get their morning coffee we were getting a little nervous, then suddenly Kristin jumps out of her car and walks right up with a huge smile on her face and asks "Are you Aric?!" (Whew!!) This girl was awesome. So much fun and simply beautiful. We wanted to keep her all day to take pictures of her, but we finally decided we had better let her go.

Kristin plans on going to LCU in the Fall and wants to major in Biology. She's a triple threat! Beautiful, smart, AND she can sing, plays the piano and the trombone!
Here are a few of the favorites!

So Very Blessed...

to know such great people. I don't know how many times I have mentioned this before, but I certainly believe it's worth mentioning again. I probably wouldn't even KNOW Aric if it weren't for this girl! :) Luckily for me, Brittany and I were in the same Bible Study last year. And even more lucky for me, Brittany loves photography...so randomly one night I asked her about her major and what she was doing with it, and I dare say that's where this all began. A few weeks later, she invited me to go to the Southwestern Photojournalism Conference in Dallas with her and a few friends. She mentioned it would be a few of her girl friends and a guy friend that enjoyed photography too. First thought...literally...was oh I bet a guy that does photography is a big nerd. (sorry) lol, then I walk into her house that Friday before we leave and there stands Aric. All tall and handsome, and I'm thinking to myself...why didn't she tell me her guy friend was CUTE?! Haha...anyway...fast forward to now...
This weekend we got to hang out for a bit and enjoy the beautiful sunny Sunday, while wondering all over downtown for some new places to take pictures.

So this is Brittany and her husband Jordan. They are super fun, incredibly witty, and just so darn good looking. Not to mention they radiate the love of Christ unlike any other couple I know. I can almost bet you won't find another couple more in love than these two, they just adore each other. Our little outing doubled as Jordan's "Senior Pictures" as he is graduating from Tech in May!! So just in case I don't say this enough...Thank you, thank you, thank you, Brittany for introducing me to Aric! Lol...maybe that's cheesy, but I'm forever grateful! :)

And here's Brittany in action...

Bugs and Tractors and Sprinklers...

This is Tripp. (and his Mom & Dad) He was a hoot. Aric and I had way too much fun hanging out, feeding ducks, playing on the playground, and just enjoying a beautiful Saturday morning with this little guy and his parents. This was really our first try at taking pictures of a little kid other than my cousins, and man oh man is it harder than we thought. This little one had a mind of his own, and he wanted to tell us about everything he saw... We saw bugs, and sprinklers, and ducks, and tractors, and much, much more on our little adventure with him. And obviously, looking at all of those things is 10 times more interesting to a little boy than looking at two strangers with big cameras pointed in his face. Despite the little setback, we got some great shots of him. My favorites are the ones of him hanging out with his Mom and Dad. They were just the cutest little family, who adored their son, and just glowed with pride as they talked about him. Tripp is also the nephew of our friend Matt (we took his engagement pictures a few weeks ago) and Tripp LOOOVES "Matt Matt". It was the cutest thing to hear Tripp talk about him. Anytime we asked him to do something and were having a hard time getting him to look at us, or sit still, if you mentioned doing something for "Matt Matt" he would get pretty excited about doing it.
Anyway, here are some of the favorites. : )
enjoyyyy...

Beautiful...

West Texas.

I finally chose a topic of interest for my 4th digital project, and by way of convenience, the beautiful West Texas where I grew up became the lucky winner. I've been having a serious mental block lately on what topics to use for my art projects. Then randomly (seriously don't even ask where this came from) I had a dream about some poloroid picture I had found of a cotton stalk. (like I said don't ask...) So I up and decided I was just gonna go take some pictures that reminded me of "West Texas" and put them together for this project. Here are just a few of the shots I took as a filler until I finish editing the pictures of Tripp. :)

After all...I guess West Texas really "ain't" all that bad.

Dedicated to...

the single most awesomest, sweetest, cutest, silliest, funnest, ridiculously fabulous person I know.

You guessed it.
None other than my best friend, and boyfriend, Aric (with an A ;)).

I'm sure I've said this several times before. If not then I should have. I'm so thankful for getting to have this guy in my life, to hang out with, learn from, laugh with, dance with, and just be obnoxiously silly with.
I wouldn't/couldn't be taking pictures without him. And therefore I don't. Anytime one of us books a shoot, automatically the other is expected to be there. And yes, every once in a while, the back of his head, or the front end of my lens gets in the way of a perfect picture...but I wouldn't have it any other way.

This weekend while we were taking Tripp's pictures, I happened to snag a few... (genereally on purpose, but a few times not on purpose) of Aric in action. I always think to myself how silly we must look bending over, and crouching down, and turning this way and that just to get the perfect angle... But I guess you just gotta do what you gotta do.
So as I intended with the title. This post is dedicated to you, my Aric! :) Hope you don't hate me too much for posting these. I just think they're too gosh darn cute! :)

A little Teaser...

Because today is going to be filled with HOMEWORK!! and not much else. But I had SUCH a great time yesterday hanging out and playing with this little boy, Tripp! He was just too sweet, and by far the most talkative little 2 year old I think I've met. We spent the better half of Saturday morning just trying to get this little one to look at the camera. But who ever said that 2 year-olds have to do what we wish they might do, never knew a 2 year-old. :) Despite the little set-back, we got some great shots of this little one just laughing, (and talking), and hanging out with his parents. I can't wait to get some more time and edit more pictures but for now, here's Tripp. :)

The Home Stretch!!

I cannot believe it. School will be over in one month! That's just 4 weeks. Plus finals. But can you say... WOO HOO!!!?!?! It's all so exciting, and yet sooo crazy. These last few weeks are jam packed FULL of tests, research papers, projects, study groups, assignments, quizzes, assesments... you name it. So things will be busy. And pictures will be slow. But good news! I get to help Aric shoot some pictures of a little 2 year old boy this weekend! If that isn't a stress reliever, I don't know what is...
So remember to keep me in your prayers these next few weeks!
