welcome!

My photo
Hey guys! Welcome to my very own "photo" blog. If you don't already know, I'm Casey, and I LOVE taking pictures! I wish I could do it all day every day. I am very blessed to have a special someone that shares this passion with me and helps me along the way. I have the best family and friends anyone could ask for, I'm just blessed beyond what I deserve. This is my passion, and there's nothing I'd rather do. If you have any questions, or would like to book a shoot, leave a comment in the comments section or send me an email at casey@aricalanphotography.com. I would love to help you any way I can. And while you're at it, check out aricalanphotography.com!! Have fun browsing!! :)

A Year Ago Yesterday...

I met this guy for the very first time.

Photobucket

at a photoconference in Dallas with these people...

not long after, he became my very best friend. He's taught me a million different things over the course of the past year. One of which (of many more, and much more valuable things...) was how to use my stinkin' camera! I am forever thankful for him. For everything he has done. For who he is. (And for Brittany for inviting me to go to the conference with them!!) But really. I can't believe it's been a year! and I'm so excited about what the new year has in store as well...

Happy Leap Day!

Digital #3

Just another project.
Mainly because this is what I spend most of my time on during the weeks.
Because sadly there is no time for other pictures.
: )
Pretty cool I guess. I send this to a class-mate through the mail. (It's mounted on a 6x9" matboard) Then I also receive one. Once each person receives their mail, we scan it into the computer then make changes and send it back. So I guess I'll post some more on this later...

anyway, here is the back.
Photobucket

and here is the front-I made if from the bottom two pictures. (I erased the addresses..duh)

Beautiful Sunday

Can't the weather be this beautiful EVERY day? It was a perfect little Sunday, with plenty of sunshine, warmth, relaxin', and PICTURES!!!
Yep, we took Bridgette & Brad's engagement pictures today! Bridgette is one of the first "model trip"'ers so she's pretty much a pro at being in front of the camera. We had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the pretty day. I realized once I got to editing the pictures that I was still stuck on my project from yesterday, and I was running a lot of those old actions on their pictures too... Hopefully not too much...
Anyway here are the favorites! until I have time to run back through them...

And it was...

SO AWESOME!!
No the West Texas winds could not stop us, and I could not be more excited about the pictures!!! They turned out just exactly how I wanted them to, and Lauren & Micah were the perfect models for the job! Lauren has these exquiste eyes that are so stunning and she's just downright beautiful. As Aric put it while we were shooting, she should be on America's next top model! They were such troopers and did crazy things like lay down in the grass for us and I am forever thankful to them. My project is gonna be the BEST.
Remember I took these pictures for myself as part of my art project so they will be a little different than what I usually do. Usually I like a lot of color, but I wanted these pictures to give off a surreal feeling- fairy-tale like- I want you to feel like you are looking at a place that is "imagined" (that's the key word here) Lol, so hopefully that's what you see when you look at these! -plus I threw in a few normal ones too...
(oh AND there are a few that are the exact same picture that I just edited different ways...just to show how awesome photoshop can be... :) ) -there are quite a few, so enjoy...
and thanks again Lauren & Micah!! (I can't wait to do your engagements!!)
