So I just finished my first assignment for my digital class! Well, half of it at least, but I just wanted to share with everyone...
The first project is called a "scannogram", where basically we just put a bunch of random objects on to a scanner bed and then tried to form it as best as possible into a city-scape, landscape, or portrait. Then we go into photoshop and try to make it look a little better.
We turned the scan into a grayscale image first and edited, then we went back and added color in different places to see how the color changed the way you looked at it.
Anyway, here's my first ever "scannogram". It looks pretty sweet all printed out and mounted on my matboard!
: )

Fun fun...
So I'm a pretty lucky girl.
I got TWO brand new lenses for my camera for Christmas!
So this weekend with the weather beautiful as it was I went out to take some pictures of NOT people.
It was super fun...
Really, I should do it more often...
Anyway, I finally got to "really" try out my 50mm 1.8 and I loved it!
Here are the results... (check out the sweet depth of field!!!!!!! :) )

Opinions Please!
Alright so here's the deal...
Believe it or not I'm actually seriously contemplating cutting my hair again...
AHH! I know.
But isn't that how it goes? Cut it short, grow it out for a year then get tired of dealing with it then cut it off again then wish it was long again and start the process over again...
Well I'm at that point. The hair is dull, lifeless, a PAIN...
and I'm thinking I need a change so tell me what you think...
Do you like it long...like it is now...
or short...the way I cut it about a year and a half ago...
(sorry about the quality of the last picture...like i said it's been like a year and a half!)

Radical...
So I've been doing a lot of reading, writing, thinking the past couple of days. I borrowed this amazing book called "The Ragamuffin Gospel" by Brennan Manning and basically it is blowing me away.
Here's an excerpt that I wanted to share.
On the back of the book it says "Gods Grace- Too Graphic for Words"...
and seriously...this stuff is good.
"Because salvation is by grace through faith, I believe that among the countless number of people standing in front of the throne and in front of the Lamb, dressed in white robes and holding palms in their hands (see Rev. 7:9), I shall see the prostitute from the Kit-Kat ranch in Carson city, Nevada, who tearfully told me she could find no other employment to support her 2-year-old son. I shall see the woman who had an abortion and is haunted by guilt and remorese but did the best she could faced with grueling alternatives; the businessman besieged with debt who sold his integrity in a series of desperate transactions; the insecure clergyman addicted to being liked, who never challenged his people from the pulpit and longed for unconditional love; the sexually abused teen molested by his father and now selling his body on the street, who, as he falls asleep each night after his last "trick", whispers the name of the unkown God he learned about in Sunday school; the deathbed convert who for decades had his cake and ate it, broke every law of God and man, wallowed in lust and raped the earth.
'But how?' we ask.
Then the voice says, 'They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'
There they are. There we are- the multitude who so wanted to be faithful, who at times got defeated, soiled by life, and bested by trials, wearing the bloodied garments of life's tribulations, but through it all clung to the faith.
My friends, if this is not good news to you, you have never understood the gospel of grace."
Seriously.
Sweet.

Busy, Boring...
I can't believe it's been OVER a week since I last blogged. That's pretty lame. But what is more lame is SCHOOL. yes. School AND work. Both want to ruin my life, and my fun. So with it being such an exhausting, work-filled week so far, I haven't even picked up my camera all week.
Such a sad. sad. thing. :(
I plan on changing that soon...
as soon as all the homework is finished...
and cleaning...
and budgeting...
and all sorts of other lame, boring, busy things...
So I guess this post was nothing but me complaining.
and that's even more lame.
Pardon my lack of enthusiasm...I'm working on that...
So I'll leave you with this awesome quote I saw the other day, and a picture of me and Lyndsay from the MAVS game on Saturday!!
"We are so utterly ordinary, so commonplace, while we profess to know a Power the Twentieth Century does not reckon with. But we are "harmless," and therefore unharmed. We are spiritual pacifists, non-militants, conscientious objectors in this battle-to-the-death with principalities and powers in high places. Meekness must be had for contact with men, but brass, outspoken boldness is required to take part in the comradeship of the Cross. We are "sideliners" -- coaching and criticizing the real wrestlers while content to sit by and leave the enemies of God unchallenged. The world cannot hate us, we are too much like its own. Oh that God would make us dangerous!" Jim Elliot

Cassidy
Like I said before, I got to help shoot some pictures of this adorable little girl before I took Erin & Tyler's engagements. Cassidy is 11 and I'm convinced she should be ANTM!! She was absolutely adorable and loads of fun. I don't know who had more fun rummaging through her suitcase full of shoes, hats, scarves, jackets, etc. more... Me or her & her mom!! She did great & I know for sure that Aric got some awesome shots. I wasn't too thrilled with mine but I found a few that I didn't hate! So here are just a few of the favorites...
plus one of Cassidy and her ever so ridiculous photographer who definately had more fun with this picture than her...

Flare!
Well I should be posting this about Cassidy.
But I'll wait a while for that.
Before Erin & Tyler's pictures I took some pictures of this cute little girl with Aric. (more about that later...)
I'm just posting this pictures because it's pretty much my first ever good sun flare!! And I was all sorts of excited about it, so I wanted to share...
: )
Enjoy.

Erin & Tyler
Warning: Get ready for TONS of pictures. : )
So I finally got to shoot Erin & Tyler's engagement pictures yesterday. And boy did I have SOO much fun!! I went to high school with Erin & Tyler. So hanging out with these two all day was just a blast. I played basketball (since like 6th grade), volleyball, did cheerleading, and went to church with Erin. She is one of my favorite people ever and one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Tyler is always know for his competitive side, but when he's around this girl, you can see some sweet come out! They are high school sweethearts and you can just tell when you're around them how in love they are! They brought along some awesome outfits (including some Dallas Cowboys paraphernalia), AND Tyler's puppy "Bauer" who was an incredibly too cute accessory to a lot of the pictures and I'm so excited about the outcome!! They were great models and put up with me & Aric asking them to laugh on command, then be serious, then kiss, then hug, then... you see where I'm going... We even found some new places which turned out to be some of my favorites! And like I said before...I took a TON of pictures...therefore...I edited a bunch of pictures.
Hope you enjoy!
: )
cute little puppy!!
new actions!!
which do you like better? Color?...
or black & white?...
Thank you guys for letting me take your pictures!! I had so much fun!! I hope you like them!
